      • Japan Airlines was one of the first airlines to receive the GE90-115B jet engine. They also hold the distinction of receiving the 500th engine to come off the line at GE's Peebles, Ohio testing facility.
      • The GE90-115B holds a spot in the Guinness Book of World Record as the Most Powerful Jet Engine after producing 127,900 pounds of thrust. GE developed this record-breaking engine with its international partners, each working together to create a truly world-class product.
      • The GE90-115B was developed to power long-range and extended-range aircraft using just two engines where the previous standard was four. By achieving this, the GE90 makes the Boeing 777 substantially cleaner than its nearest, four-engine competitor. The engine's fan blades allow a greater throughput of air, making the engine more efficient and more powerful.
      • Environmental and cost benefits of the GE90-115B

-Although it is the most powerful commercial aircraft engine ever built, the GE90-115B can meet the most stringent airport noise requirements in the world.
      • The GE90-115B enables the Boeing 777 to achieve 22 percent better fuel efficiency per seat than its closest competitor.

-In one year this amounts to a savings of more than 234 million gallons of fuel across the entire GE90-equipped Boeing 777-300ER fleet.

-This translates into an annual fuel savings of more than US$ 230 million for airlines.
      • Each year, Air France's fleet of GE90-115B-powered Boeing 777 aircraft will emit 141,000 fewer tons of greenhouse gas emissions than its closest competitor. This reduction is equal to:

-Removing nearly 25,000 cars from the road for a year.

-The carbon dioxide absorbed by 35,000 acres of forest, an area twice the size of Manhattan
      • The GE90-115B engine emits 6 percent fewer nitrogen oxide emissions than the maximum that will be allowed by 2008 international standards
